Senior Blessing

This page is dedicated to working on a blessing written for the graduating class of 2009.  The students from the religious release class are working to write a blessing for the outgoing seniors that expresses our hopes and prayers for them.

Ok, after class today I worked on all the things we had stated during class and then compiled the following rough draft prayer of blessing, please feel free to comment on what you like, want to change, or add, I am totally open to rewriting the whole thing with you guys!  Also, if you have written something on your own, please post it here or bring it Sunday morning at 11 and share it with them there!

Here's what I have so far... (again, it's a rough draft)

May God, the Father of us all, give you strength through the Holy Spirit and our Lord Jesus Christ.  May His strength empower you to understand that He loves you deeply, not because of what you have done or because you've somehow earned His love, but simply because He has chosen to love you, and He has chosen to never leave you, and He will fulfill the plans He has for you.  And may your response to His strength and love be faithfulness.  Faithfulness to a Christ-like life that sees through the traps of temptation, faithfulness to a church home that will keep you focused and accountable, faithfulness to love and serve your friends as well as your enemies, and faithfulness to share with others everything that God has blessed you with.  May you remember that at one point you did not know His love that was given to you through Christ's sacrifice on the cross, and in the same way not judge others but extend the knowledge of His love for others that they too might come to see how great He is.  Now to Him who is able to bless and sustain you until you receive your reward from Him in heaven for a living a life of faith, to Him be the praise forever and ever and ever, Amen.
